Equipping people to support others affected by loss and trauma
Training – Moral injury – International collaboration
Center for Faith, Loss and Trauma (CTTT)
CTTT equips professionals and facilitators to support people affected by grief, loss, trauma and moral injury, combining trauma-informed knowledge with moral, existential and spiritual perspectives.
Through the internationally recognised THI Method and a particular focus on moral injury, we provide training, workshops and professional collaboration in Denmark and abroad.
It has been a tremendous help to receive this training in Denmark and to be equipped with the latest data and international research. It gives us a stronger foundation for supporting people affected by trauma and for helping to rebuild Ukraine.

Training and workshops
Our training is designed for people with relevant professional or theological backgrounds and combines foundational knowledge, reflection and practical exercises.
The THI Method integrates foundational knowledge of grief and trauma with biblical texts and reflection on faith, meaning and life.
Through participatory learning, conversation and reflection, participants gain practical tools for creating safe spaces where people can talk about faith, loss and trauma.
In facilitator training, participants experience the group process themselves and learn how to facilitate it in their own context.
Developed by the Trauma Healing Institute in the United States, the method has been used internationally for more than 20 years and is available in more than 200 languages.
CTTT does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. The THI Method is not therapy, but a form of care that can complement other relevant professional support.
Courses, workshops and talks
Alongside facilitator training in the THI Method, CTTT provides courses, workshops and talks tailored to professional and organisational contexts.
Topics include grief, loss, trauma, moral injury, faith and existential perspectives, and supporting people and communities affected by crisis and loss.
Moral injury
CTTT has a particular focus on moral injury. We follow international research and translate current knowledge into training, courses and workshops for professionals and organisations.
Moral injury can arise from experiences that violate a person’s deeply held values and moral beliefs. It may manifest as guilt, shame, anger, a sense of betrayal, and loss of trust, hope or meaning – and may raise questions of responsibility, forgiveness and faith.
The THI Method offers a framework in which these experiences and the moral, spiritual and existential questions they may raise can be explored.
Moral injury is a serious societal problem that remains insufficiently recognised.

International training and collaboration
CTTT draws on extensive experience from work in contexts affected by war, displacement and crisis.
We collaborate with professionals and organisations across countries and disciplines, bringing international experience into our training and development work.
We provide training in the THI Method in Denmark and internationally, while contributing to the exchange of knowledge and experience across professional and cultural contexts.
We welcome collaboration with churches, NGOs, educational institutions and other organisations seeking to strengthen their capacity to support people affected by grief, loss, trauma and moral injury.
